Quiet Weekend

The weekend just concluded, and it's been a quiet week in terms of transfers.

Crouch is almost moving to Tottenham, Bent is almost moving to Sunderland, Terry almost moved to City, Toure is nearly there. Liverpool are still chasing Silva, Madrid are still chasing Alonso. It's the same old stories, but nothing concrete.

The only news comes from Italy/Spain where Ibrahamovic and Eto'o swapped places. Mourinho made a public comment about losing Zlatan, as a coach, but as a manager, it was good business. And indeed it was. 45million euros plus Eto'o. I really wonder how the chairman pulled that stunt.

I know Eto'o wanted to leave, but still. Eto'o isn't worth only 50million euros either. That makes it almost a 100million euro deal. And let me tell you this, I rate Eto'o much higher than Ibrahamovic. "Zlatan Ibrahamovic makes Dimitar Berbatov look as hardworking as Dirk Kuyt", was one comment on F365. I can't say I agree with that, but certainly I enjoy Eto'o's pace and energy so much more than the admittedly lazy but sublime skills of Ibrahamovic.

That being said, I think it was a steal on Inter's point of view. Absolutely great business!

That's my only comment. On the only transfer story. It's back to reading about Terry, Alonso, Crouch, Silva....
