Predictable Match

Brazil sank Australia in a nothing more than predictable match.

The Aussies did well to pack their defence in the first half, but when they decided to go forward, they were cruelly exposed at the back. I predicted a 1-0 win to the South Americans because I thought this is what was going to happen. The Aussies defend in numbers and an out of sorts Ronaldo wouldn't do much.

Indeed that was the case till the 90th minute when Ronaldo and Adriano were subbed off more a more mobile and active pairing of Robinho and Fred. I was hoping to see Juninho in some of the action, but it wasn't to be. Brazil came out comfortable winners in the end though chances falling for Kewell and Bresciano threatened to dampen the party. But if you don't take your chances against the World Champions, the match will turn out to be predictable as the scoreline suggest.

Next up is the French against the South Koreans. I am hoping for the best but expecting the worst in this match recalling the lacklustre game the French had against Switzerland previously. South Korea have a good chance of upsetting the odds. So if you would still call your bookie, you might take their 9.00 bet. Though I see a boring 0-0 or 1-0 to someone at the end of the game, probably France.

Well, I'll leave you with my predictions for tomorrow's games:

Togo vs Switzerland 0-0 (or a low-scoring draw)
Saudi Arabia vs Ukraine 1-0 (or 0-1 but I only see 1 goal in this game)
Spain vs Tunisia 2-0 (Probably be as predictable as today's Brazil vs Australia match)
