Disappointed

Now that was one boring match. I say this after a 0-0 draw between France and Switzerland. I knew it would be tight; the scoreline, though didn't surprise me, bored me. I was predicting a narrow French victory with inspiration from Henry, or Saha, or Zidane to unlock the game. Unfortunately for the french that inspiration didnt come.

The South Korea vs Togo game was good for only about 20minutes. The South Koreans didn't play well at all in the first half, and Togo were happy punting long balls forward - one eventually lead to the well-taken goal. But otherwise, South Korea only hit back in the second half through a Lee Chun Soo free kick and eventually a classy winner by Ahn Jun Hwan. Then after that, they stopped playing! Togo had been reduced to 10 man as a result of the foul that lead to the free-kick, and so as long as South Korea played possession, they were never going to give up their lead - and they did that to perfection, if not boredom.

It could have been the heat - I heard reports that it was the hottest
day of the year recorded in Germany thus far - so it's no wonder the
players were sluggish and drenched in sweat!

But let's hope the weather can suit Brazil, and may they entertain us
later; for the earlier two matches were as Aussies would say "boring
as".
