Who would have thought? Australia with 3 goals in the last 8 minutes to seal a famous, famous win for the socceroos. It had brought the drama I thought was lacking so far this World Cup, a come from behind win with so much excitment!
That was Australia's first goal - or first three -, first win of the world cup, and that was some way they did it! It would be celebrations here in Australia tomorrow!
You have to feel sorry for the Japanese to have thrown the game away in the last 8 minutes, but really, they failed to create many good chances. Their crosses and final pass was terrible and they were wasteful when chances did come their way.
It remains to be seen if Australia can make it past the group stage, but this victory is a significant historical landmark for Australian soccer!
